Alicia and Kyle’s Wedding

From the moment we walked into the home where Alicia grew up, and she greeted us at the door, we knew it was going to be a great day!  Alicia’s smile lit up the room and her parents welcomed us graciously.  There was much happiness in the room with the bridesmaids ready to be a part of their friends wedding day.  After Alicia was all put together and looked beautiful in her dress, we shot pictures inside. They were anxious to go outside where the Mohawk River was the backyard to Alicia’s family home. What an awesome back drop for wedding pictures!

As calm and happy as we found the bride-to-be, that is exactly how we found Kyle, who was waiting for us at the church with his best man.  After the beautiful ceremony, the family pictures, and family and friends going through the receiving line, we were off to the park for some quality time with the entire bridal party.  They were a fun group of young men and women and we enjoyed being with them all, but now it is time to get to the reception at the Franklin Terrace in Troy.

The room looked amazing and the centerpieces were beautiful (thanks to Alicia’s mother-in-law who designed them).  After the quests were treated to a delicious dinner and chocolate wedding cake, it was time for the parent dances.  It was a very emotional and touching dance for Alicia and her Dad and Kyle and his Mom.  I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room including my assistant.  After the bouquet and garter was tossed and lots of laughs, it was time to party and dance.  The DJ’s were great and there was never a time that anybody was just sitting in their chairs.

Thank you Alicia and Kyle for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day.  We truly felt the love you have for each other and wish you health and happiness as you start your life together!

What a great looking couple. We should have lots of fun shooting their wedding next year. The Albany Country Club will make for a great backdrop. The staff at The Albany Country Club are top shelf and the food is great.

Marisa and Christopher

Every little girl dreams of a fairytale wedding, and on Saturday, July, 18th, Marisa didn’t have to dream anymore!  When we arrived at the DeGesare home there was happy chaos as 14 bridesmaids, 1 matron of honor, 4 adorable flower girls, 1 set of beaming parents and a very anxious bride ready to say “I DO”. The dress was gorgeous as it stood in the middle of the room, but looked breathtaking on the bride to be, with her fabulous pink shoes!

The ceremony at the church was amazing where you could feel the love coming from family and friends,  as everyone waited in anticipation for the union of Marisa and Chris. After the Church, we made a stop to Proctors Theater on State Street,  where the newlyweds wanted to take some fun pictures, but now it was time to get this party started!
As we arrived at The Glen Sanders Mansion and walked into the newly renovated Grand Ballroom, the fairytale continued as David Schmidt from Renaissance Florist transformed the room into every brides dream come true! The food, the attention to detail, and the staff is always perfection at the Mansion.
After all the formalities and a surprise song that Chris sang to his new bride, the TS Ensemble led a conga line outside where everybody was treated to a fireworks display then brought back inside to an amazing Viennese table on the patio. The rest of the night was left for family and friends to have fun and dance!

Rosa & Nick’s  Wedding

“If you open the dictionary and look up the word stunning, (definition; striking beauty) that would describe Rosa”.  

We arrive at Rosa’s  house where family and bridal party were excited and anxiously waiting to get started.
From the moment we saw Rosa with her hair pulled up and feathers perfectly arranged at the back of her hair, I said to my assistant, “what did I tell you”, she quickly agreed, “Rosa is beautiful”.  We managed to get some great shots outside, before the rain started.  Now inside,  Rosa mentioned that the couch in the living room was special to her, and it proved to be a great back drop for some of our favorite pictures.

Time to move onto the Church and meet up with Nick and the best-man.  They looked very handsome and defiantly ready for their photo shoot.  Enthusiastic family and friends started gathering to witness Rosa and Nick exchange their vows. The ceremony was perfect and after family pictures, we were off to the State Education Building in Albany.  There are many great locations for pictures downtown, but this was the perfect back drop with the massive pillars and of course, a very happy bride and groom!

We are now at the Italian American Community Center and the room looks beautiful.  Cocktail hour is over,
introductions begin and Rosa and Nick’s first dance was very impressive!  After the matron of honor and the best-man gave their heartfelt toasts, and the pastor blessed the meal, it was time to enjoy the buffet that offered a huge assortment of incredible food that would appeal to every ones individual taste. The wedding cake was cut, the dessert station was open and the quests were treated to a band that not only had everybody dancing, but were also very entertaining. 

Thank you Rosa and Nick for letting us be a part of your special day, and we wish you a happy and healthy life together!

Hall of Springs, Saratoga Springs

Stephanie & Bill’s Wedding
 

Magical, unique, fun;  just a few adjectives that describe Stephanie and Bill’s special wedding day!
We started out at the Hampton Inn in Saratoga where Stephanie and her family were just arriving to check into the hotel.  After the immediate family gathered into the only room that was ready, we had a good laugh when everyone was trying to get dressed at once.   Nobody was fazed by this mishap, especially Stephanie and she looked beautiful for her photographs.!  Now we are off to the Bachelor Mansion to spend quality time with the groom and groomsmen.  We had some fun with the guys and got some great pictures, but we must continue on our journey and move on to the ceremony.   As I mentioned earlier, this wedding was magical and that’s how my assistant described the ceremony at the Museum of Dance. 

Stephanie was a ballerina, so how appropriate and thoughtful of Bill to have come up with this plan.  Family and friends were greeted by a trio playing classical music and the bride walked down the aisle with her proud dad.  The museum served as an awesome background for me to photograph the happy couple. 

It is time to get this party started at the magnificent Hall of Springs.  The room looked amazing with all the tables adorned with flower arrangements made by the bride.  As always the food was incredibly delicious the staff was awesome, but the most memorable event of the evening, was the bride and grooms first dance.  As their song began to play, everyone in the room was mesmerized by how they moved so eloquently across the room, never missing a step.  After all the emotional toasts, the dinner was served, the cake was cut, the bouquet tossed, it was time for the New York Players to get everyone dancing; and that is exactly what they accomplished!

Tracy and Bill’s Wedding

Franklin Plaza

Tracy and Bill’s wedding day started out to be picture perfect thanks to the weather, the bride looking beautiful and bridesmaids pretty in pink.
After spending quality time with the girls and parents, just before we left to see how the groom was doing at the Church, Tracy was surprised with a gift from Bill who sent over a wedding cake charm for her Pandora bracelet, nice touch Bill!
The ceremony was beautiful with family, extended family and friends showing their support for this loving couple.
After church we usually go to the reception and take pictures there, but Tracy and Bill, had other plans.  Bill got permission to take pictures on the lawns of the Emma Willard School with it’s spectacular architecture, acres and acres of lush green lawn and a bridal party that was ready to get this party started!
As we are leaving  Tracy and Bill pose in front of the school where the limo is waiting to transport them to what will turn out to be a spectacular wedding reception.
Here we are again at the Franklin Plaza which certainly says something about the bride and groom and their choice of where they want to celebrate their special day!
If you want ambiance, attention to detail, attentive waitstaff and a menu that appeals to individual taste, the Franklin Plaza always seems to be able to bring that approach to every wedding.
As the bride and groom were introduced and walk past their guests cheering them on with a feverish pitch, sparklers are lighting up the entire room,  and the first dance signifies their new life together as husband and wife.  From that moment on the dance floor was never empty, thanks to the TS Ensemble Band and the wedding guests who helped make this day memorable for Tracy and Bill.  As I reflect back to special moments of this wedding, I must mention the parent dances.  Tracy and her Dad danced first and I noticed how much he loved his daughter and held her so tightly knowing Bill would be taking care of her now.  Then it was Bill’s turn to dance with his mother, but it was his grandmother who was going to dance with him, since sadly Bill lost his mother to cancer not long ago.  His grandmother was hesitant, but I heard him say ” just dance like we practiced” and she cried, but made it through as everyone surrounded them to show their support.  I believe his mother was watching down and approved of the entire day and was happy to see a specialty drink made in honor of her memory and donations made to the Cancer Society.
After  that heartfelt moment  the party was non-stop dancing and celebrating,  and at the end of the night if you were hungry after working off dinner from all the dancing there was a carving station to entice you even more after this amazing wedding!
